It's All About Family

The INFINI-Family has been growing since the foundation of the organization in 2007, but the family really spans back to an ensemble called First Degree, the first independent organization founded by Tom Hurst and John Campese. First Degree was founded in 2005 as an Independent A Class organization, but during the season the ensemble improved so much that WGI promoted the organization to Open Class where they finished in 10th place at WGI Finals. The following year, First Degree went on to win the WGI Open Class gold medal - an experience that Jake Siegel, at the age of only 14, was very happy to be a part of.

After winning the gold medal, founders Tom and John moved on to form INFINITY Percussion, and began the ensemble immediately in World Class. Since 2007, the organization has been excelling within the activity, becoming a perennial WGI World Class finalist, winning 5 FFCC World Class gold medals, all the while gaining fans and followers from all across the country and around the world.

This is all due to our amazing INFINI-Family - the members, directors, instructional staff, alumni, support staff, parents, and sponsors - this is because of family members like Jake Siegel. This past summer, Jake achieved one of his drumming dreams - to march with The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps - a dream he believes came true in part because of his involvement with INFINITY.

Read below as Jake describes the similarities between INFINITY and The Cavaliers family aspect, and how his involvement with INFINITY helped prepare him for this past drum corps season.

“Family is the number one thing that brings me back to INFINITY year after year. The family that we have at INFINITY is unlike any other. There is so much love and positive energy from member to member, and also from member to staff. At INFINITY, it’s always very clear to see that we are all one big team, and that we are all in it together. The brotherhood and family aspect that I experienced as a member of the 2012 Cavaliers was also incredible. It really did remind me a lot of my INFINITY family in the fact that no matter what happens, at the end of the day we were all family and were all working together towards one common goal: to be great. From my start with The Cavaliers, I was welcomed into the family with open arms and I know that we at INFINITY do the same to all of those who walk through our doors.”

“I can honestly say that I would not be where I am as a drummer, and would have not marched with The Cavaliers, if there were no INFINITY. Not only did INFINITY prepare me musically and physically to march with The Cavaliers, but also instilled within me the correct attitude and work ethic that I needed in order to become a member of The Cavaliers. Beyond preparing my body and my mind to become a Cavalier, INFINITY was 100% supportive of me marching with another great organization and for that I cannot be more thankful. INFINITY was willing let me miss important rehearsals so that I could represent our INFINI-family to the entire nation. It has truly been a privilege of mine to be able to call myself a member of such great organizations and families as The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and INFINITY Percussion.”
